Welcome graphic

I'm Joy and I'm a junior at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. I am studying Accounting, and I hopefully will be attending graduate school to receive my Masters in Accountancy after undergrad. Before attending A&T, I went to the University of Pittsburgh for three semesters.  At Pitt, I was actively involved in various student organizations such as FOCUS and Roberto Clemente Minority Business Association.  Because I am new to A&T, I was not as involved last semester, but hopefully I can take charge in the fall.

This summer, not only did I take English 112, but I also took Music Appreciation and Government and worked 40 hours a week at Penney's.  My immediate goal is to work at Penney's corporate headquarters as an intern next summer, so I won't be stuck in a retail job and will be engaging in somethin in my field at the same time.  If not Penney's, then IBM.  I have some pretty big plans!  Upon graduating, it would be nice to work for one of the Big Four accounting firms.  If I don't work for one of the four, no sweat.  Everyone needs an accountant.  After working in a company for a good number of years, I would like to go into private accounting.  Show me the money!.

I have been in Virginia Beach my entire life, so I am ready to "grow up," be on my own, and leave. After going to Pittsburgh by myself, I had a different outlook on things. I believe that everyone should leave home, even if only for a short time. There is a lot of growth with being in unfamiliar territory. ((random))

Now that I have gotten completely off topic with my future plans, enjoy the rest of the site!
